The Road to EACMC 2026

The Road To EACMC 2026

A year of market access, coffee discovery and commercial connection

EACMC 2026 is built as more than a three-day event in Nairobi. Activities throughout the year bring producers, buyers, institutions, service providers and industry partners into a progressive market-access journey leading to the EACMC Grand Expo.

Regional engagements help identify coffees and producers, strengthen market readiness and build commercial relationships. Industry engagements bring together buyers, finance, trade and development actors. The Grand Expo then provides the major physical marketplace where these different strands meet.

2026 Selection & Profiling Phase

East of Rift coffee submissions move into evaluation and profiling, identifying distinctive lots for buyer exposure at the Grand Expo.

FOEA - West of Rift

The 2026 journey opened in Kenya’s western coffee-growing region through the Flavours of East Africa — West of Rift engagement.

The regional event brought farmers, cooperatives, coffee institutions, buyers and other value-chain actors together around coffee quality, market access and commercial opportunity.

It also provided an important regional pathway into the wider Flavours of East Africa programme, through which distinctive coffees can be evaluated, profiled and progressively exposed to relevant market opportunities.

EACMC Market Access Breakfast

The Market Access Breakfast brought together selected coffee-sector leaders, buyers, financial institutions, public-sector actors, development organisations and market partners for a focused discussion on what it takes to move African coffee from opportunity to actual business.

The engagement centred on buyer access, producer readiness, finance, trade systems, quality, compliance and the practical partnerships required to support stronger commercial outcomes.

It also strengthened the relationships feeding into the wider EACMC market-access programme and the October Grand Expo.

2026 Selection & Profiling Phase

FOEA - East of Rift

The East of Rift phase extends the Flavours of East Africa coffee discovery programme into another major producing region.

Coffee submissions move through structured evaluation and profiling to identify distinctive lots with the quality and market potential to be presented to relevant buyers and industry stakeholders.

Selected coffees progress towards the wider FOEA programme and the Grand Expo, where quality discovery connects with buyer engagement, B2B meetings and market-development opportunities.

The objective is not simply to identify good coffee, but to create a clearer pathway from quality recognition to market visibility and commercial connection.
