Mr. Patrick Kilemi was appointed as the Principal Secretary, State Department for Cooperatives in the Ministry of Cooperatives and MSMEs Development on 2nd December, 2022. He is a holder of MA in Economics and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics degree from the University of Nairobi (UoN). He is also a Certified Public Account (CPA (K)). Prior to his appointment, he worked in the petroleum industry in Kenya and the East and Central African region at Total Energies Marketing Kenya PLC (2009-2022), where he held various management positions as the Export Manager and General Territory Manager. He was responsible for the Company’s increasing development and expansion efforts into high-growth, emerging markets as well as its advanced systemic and orderly business operations strategies. Before joining Total Energies Marketing Kenya PLC, Patrick served as an Integrated Business Solutions Consultant, East Africa at Chevron Kenya Limited (2005-2009). He was also a Retail Lubricants Promoter at Mobil Oil Kenya Limited (2002- 2005), where he was instrumental in growing revenues and increasing market share for the oil companies. He has had extensive professional trainings and commands numerous expose’ to local and international conferences and workshops in areas of cooperatives development and policy, administration, leadership, management, anti-corruption and fraud, and combating economic crime, agricultural value chain financing, computing and other areas of business and management among high level global conferences. With regard to community service, Patrick has spearheaded the establishment of development programmes and schools in the rural community and served in several secondary school boards of management. In addition, he has mentored many young leaders and students on financial management and social enterprise initiatives. He is a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK) and serves in various professional bodies.

During his tenure, he championed initiatives aimed at broadening participation in Kenya's capital markets and strengthening the role of the NSE as a platform for investment and economic growth. He is also the former National Chairman of the Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KNCCI) and has held leadership and board positions across a range of prominent Kenyan and international organisations. He is a co-founder of Radio Africa Group and has served in leadership roles across the media, financial services and technology sectors. An advocate for entrepreneurship, investment and private-sector-led economic development, Mr. Kittony brings a strong understanding of how capital, markets, institutions and business leadership can work together to unlock economic opportunity. He was conferred the Elder of the Order of the Burning Spear (EBS) in 2019 in recognition of his distinguished service to Kenya as a business leader. He currently serves as the **Non-Executive Chairperson of the Coffee Board of Kenya**, having been appointed to the position effective September 2026. He also serves as a **Value Chain Advisor on Crops and Value Chains at the Office of the President of the Republic of Kenya**, contributing to national efforts to strengthen strategic agricultural value chains and expand their contribution to Kenya’s economy. Mr. Kinyua brings extensive experience in agribusiness, market development and value-chain transformation, with a particular focus on creating stronger linkages between producers, markets, financial institutions, processors and other value-chain actors. His work has included initiatives aimed at improving market access, strengthening agricultural enterprises and unlocking greater value for farmers. In his current role at the Coffee Board of Kenya, Mr. Kinyua is focused on advancing a farmer-centric, transparent and market-led coffee sector, with priorities including increasing national production, expanding export value and volumes, strengthening domestic coffee consumption, and promoting greater value addition through local processing, roasting, packaging and branding. Dr Paul Douglas Seward is an Agricultural/Soil scientist specializing in the development of a private sector-led Extension Service to catalyse the adoption of the appropriate technologies, to improve the agricultural productivity and livelihoods of small-holder farmers in sub-Saharan Africa. He is the Founder of FIPS Africa and the originator of the Village-Based Advisor (VBA) model. He has spent more than 30 years working alongside small-holder farmers across sub-Saharan Africa to develop practical, scalable solutions that increase productivity and strengthen resilience. He has held leadership roles with AGRA, where he helped institutionalise the VBA model within the organisation’s programming. He has pioneered innovations in soil fertility and input systems, including designing the first fertiliser blends to be produced in Kenya and Tanzania. At FIPS Africa, he currently leads work on innovations to improve soil health, including the development of the WonderGro soil conditioner. He is passionate about enabling smallholder farmers to learn by doing, using affordable technologies and low-risk trial packs that allow farmers to experiment, adapt, and scale solutions that work in their own farming systems.

Utake Coffee Limited is also a Kenyan coffee exporting company of both green and roasted specialty coffees. Mbula conducts coffee quality courses locally and internationally to continuously empower people, improve coffee quality and the lives of those who produce it. Mbula is also an Emeritus Board director of the global Specialty Coffee Association (SCA), and currently on the board of the global Coffee Coalition for Racial Equity, (CCRE) and the International Women’s Coffee Alliance (IWCA). She is passionate about gender equity and youth empowerment and was instrumental in the formation of the International Women in Coffee Alliance (IWCA) chapters in Africa, enabling equitable engagement of women in the sector. A pioneer in the coffee sustainability space, her company is the first to offer carbon-neutral certified coffee in Africa and launched the first single-serve specialty Kenyan coffee packaged in eco-friendly and biodegradable bags to offer coffee consumers a high value quality product conveniently while conserving the environment. Two years in a row in 2025 and 2026, her company won the Gourmet Award from AVPA Paris for coffees roasted at origin, a first from Kenya, testament to her consistency in delivering a globally accredited product and service in the global coffee space.
