Flavours of East Africa (FOEA) is EACMC’s coffee quality and market-access programme, created to identify, profile and elevate outstanding coffees from across Kenya and East Africa.
FOEA goes beyond scoring and awards. Selected coffees may be positioned for buyer discovery, cuppings, producer profiling, Trade Connect engagement, B2B meetings and other market-access opportunities during the East African Coffee Markets & Conference.
The 2026 journey culminates in the FOEA Grand Finale at EACMC 2026, 28–30 October at Visa Oshwal Centre, Nairobi.
Professional evaluation helps identify and distinguish exceptional coffees based on cup quality, consistency and character.
Selected coffees and producers gain stronger visibility through profiling, cuppings, event exposure and buyer-facing opportunities.
FOEA gives buyers a curated way to discover distinctive East African coffees and engage directly with producers and coffee enterprises.
FOEA connects quality recognition to Trade Connect, B2B meetings, auction consideration and wider commercial follow-up.
Producers, cooperatives, estates and eligible coffee enterprises submit representative coffee samples together with the required producer and lot information.
Coffees are assessed through structured sensory evaluation to identify quality, character and market potential.
Strong coffees may progress to FOEA recognition, producer profiling, buyer discovery, curated cuppings and other EACMC market-access opportunities.
Eligible coffees may connect into Trade Connect, Buyer–Seller meetings, buyer conversations, auction consideration and commercial follow-up.
